The role
The consultant will provide specialized technical support to advance the development of the Central Framework for a System of Population and Social Statistics (CF-SPSS), focusing on reviewing existing materials, developing common statistical language, revising classification activities, preparing initial population group structures, and more.
What you'll do
- Review and synthesize relevant existing materials related to the development of the CF-SPSS
- Support the development of a common statistical language for SPSS
- Revise the Classification of Statistical Activities to better organize domains and subdomains relevant for population and social statistics
- Develop an initial common structure of population groups by key variables
- Support the development of integrated tabulations designed to demonstrate practical value for evidence-based policymaking
What it takes
- Advanced university degree in statistics, demography, sociology, economics, public policy, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in drafting analytical reports, background papers, methodological documents, or research papers
- Experience in population and/or social statistics is required
- Experience in the development or application of statistical frameworks, classifications, concepts, definitions, tabulations, disaggregation practices, or integrated data approaches is highly desirable
- Experience working with governments, national statistical offices, regional organizations, or international organizations is desirable
