The role

The consultant/team will work on operationalizing direct access to finance for LMMA communities and defining the WIO LMMA Alliance’s role as a regional community financing and support platform.

What you'll do

  • Review and operationalise the financing scenarios developed during Phase 1
  • Develop and test a direct-access financing model in selected WIO seascapes
  • Define the WIO LMMA Alliance’s role in supporting community access to finance
  • Develop the Alliance financing architecture and country-level financing models
  • Develop the WIO LMMA Alliance Fundraising Strategy and Investment Proposition

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree or equivalent professional qualification in finance, economics, conservation finance, environmental economics, development finance or a related field
  • Strong practical knowledge of LMMAs, community-led conservation and community trust funds
  • Experience developing fundraising strategies, investment cases and donor-facing financing propositions
  • Experience in the WIO region
  • Experience in organisational development and institutional strengthening of regional alliances, networks, coalitions or membership-based organisations
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and assessment of existing financing mechanisms
