The role
UNICEF Togo is seeking a National UN Volunteer Construction Engineer to support the preparation, technical supervision, and quality control of construction works in various infrastructure projects.
What you'll do
- Prepare and collect information for annual work plans
- Provide technical support to Programme/Operations sections
- Attend technical cooperation meetings and prepare presentations
- Draft the scope of construction works based on requirements, budget, and site limitations
- Participate in preparation of Local Purchase Authorization (LPA) requests and Contract Review Committee (CRC) submissions
- Monitor construction projects by undertaking regular site visits
What it takes
- At least three (3) years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level
- Experience with Education, Protection, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programmes is an asset
- Skills in monitoring and managing technical projects in the context of construction are required
- Professional experience in developing countries is required
- Experience in construction including innovative materials such as earth
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
