The role

UNICEF is seeking a Community-Based Surveillance and Village Health Team Coordinator for Angola to strengthen community-based surveillance systems, support outbreak preparedness, and enhance public health emergency response capacities.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical support to design and deploy integrated surveillance systems
  • Support the establishment of community-based surveillance and event-based surveillance systems
  • Coordinate deployment, supervision, and performance monitoring of Community Health Workers
  • Develop and roll out standardized surveillance tools and reporting forms
  • Contribute to preparedness activities for high-risk diseases

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in public health or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in public health, disease surveillance, outbreak preparedness and response, community health, health systems strengthening, or emergency preparedness programmes
  • Experience supporting community-based surveillance (CBS), event-based surveillance (EBS), Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR), or similar public health surveillance systems
  • Experience working with government institutions, particularly Ministries of Health and subnational health authorities
