The role
The Communications Support Officer will develop and support the implementation of communication strategies and plans to raise awareness of key health issues and encourage appropriate actions, in coordination with relevant staff and partners.
What you'll do
- Develop and support the implementation of communication strategies and plans
- Support the implementation of WHO corporate communication strategy
- Identify marketable subjects/success stories and develop communications and advocacy products
- Support optimal outreach and dissemination to target audiences
- Organize events, campaigns and media briefings
- Build and maintain productive networks and contacts with the media and key national communication counterparts
What it takes
- A university degree in communication, journalism, marketing, public health, political science, international relations, or a similar field
- A minimum of two years relevant work experience in delivering communications strategies, services and products at the national level
- Expert knowledge of English and local language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages, web content management systems, graphic design and video production software, social listening and social media analytics
