The role

The Communications Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication plans to support project and program objectives. This role involves analyzing communication contexts, managing editorial calendars, and producing high-quality content such as press releases, social media posts, and reports.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of communication strategies and plans.
  • Analyze communication contexts, target audiences, and channels to optimize the reach and impact of communication activities.

  • Coordinate the production of content across various communication channels.
  • Maintain effective communication with donors, clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the organization of external events and ensure the organization's representation aligns with UNOPS standards.

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Fluency in English and French, with intermediate Arabic proficiency desirable.
  • Experience in using collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and online management systems.
  • Experience in multicultural environments or within UN systems in developing countries is a plus.
  • Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is a plus.
  • Experience in creating and managing content for local/community-level audiences is a plus.
