The role
The Club Athletics Coach will support the development of athletic skills and provide opportunities for social emotional learning by leading club sports teams during DREAM’s after-school program.
What you'll do
- Lead a group of up to 18-20 youth in daily after-school sports practices and occasional scrimmages
- Teach skill development and improvement in a supportive setting
- Facilitate or co-facilitate lessons to help youth build their social and emotional skills
- Supervise youth during travel to scrimmages and/or practices
- Communicate with school-day and programs staff about athletes’ progress, with a focus on teamwork
What it takes
- Strong facilitation skills of athletics or recreational programming with youth in grades 6-8
- Experience teaching youth foundational physical activity and athletic skills
- NSCA-CPT certification preferred
- Exhibits high energy, warmth, enthusiasm and patience in working with youth
