The role

Stand.earth is seeking a creative and experienced Campaigner for a full-time contract position starting as soon as possible for an extendable nine-month term. Reporting to the Climate Finance Program Director, this fully remote position will be responsible for helping to implement an expanding campaign plan against new LNG projects in Canada.

What you'll do

  • Increase the impact of an existing campaign to slow and stop final investment decisions for new LNG projects in Canada
  • Work with our Communications and Engagement team to develop digital and communications strategies and products to support this campaign
  • Act as a spokesperson for this campaign as directed
  • Act as a representative for the campaign in Canadian and international coalition spaces, and coordinate our efforts with partners and allies
  • Work with frontline communities, including First Nations, that are impacted by proposed LNG projects

What it takes

  • At least five years of experience campaigning on political, environmental or social justice campaigns
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective public campaign strategies and tactics
  • Able to anticipate and identify key related external public discourse moments to strategically insert our messaging
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex information, identify strategic campaign opportunities and intervention points, and act on these
  • Committed to equity, racial justice, authentic communications, standing up for impacted communities, and continual learning
  • Excellent written communication skills in English; French language skills considered an asset but not necessary
