The role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Client Engagement Intern to support their New Jersey team in providing trauma-informed services to refugees and immigrants. The intern will assist with intake, outreach, data entry, and translation services while learning about human services and case management.

What you'll do

  • Support Intake/Outreach, Client Voices, and RCA specialists with data entry and document organization
  • Assist clients with booking and preparing for intake appointments
  • Provide live translation in Spanish or Haitian Creole
  • Execute outreach campaigns via phone, message, and email
  • Coordinate client events and collect feedback
  • Research community resources and networks

What it takes

  • Fluency in a second language (Spanish/Haitian Creole preferred)
  • Current or recent enrollment in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or related fields
  • Experience with data entry and case management software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in working with refugees and immigrants
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours per week
