Action for Children is seeking a Children’s Services Worker to provide practical, emotional, and financial support to young carers aged 8-18 in the Gwynedd area. The role involves conducting assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions, and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure child safety. This position operates on a hybrid basis and requires a candidate who can work in the medium of Welsh. The role is a fixed-term contract until March 31, 2027, working 25 hours per week.

What you'll do

  • Utilize trauma-informed approaches to validate experiences and help youth understand their situations.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions through group work and one-to-one sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to manage safeguarding concerns.
  • Represent the organization at community events and organize short breaks.

What it takes

  • Experience supporting children, young people, and families in a similar setting.
  • Level 3 QCF in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work toward it).
  • Full driving licence and access to reliable transport for travel across Gwynedd.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the medium of Welsh.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight residentials.
