The role

The CCAC National Mitigation Consultant for Fiji will support the Department of Climate Change to ensure that relevant projects are completed within timeline and in line with needs and priorities of the Government of Fiji, and support engagement on super pollutant issues at regional and international levels.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical advice for mitigation policies and their implementation
  • Support the Department of Climate Change in writing proposals to access climate finance
  • Develop and implement Fiji’s NDC and other key climate and clean air policies and strategies
  • Coordinate super pollutant projects supported by the CCAC and other development partners
  • Engage sub-national governments, civil society, and international partners

What it takes

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
  • At least 4 years of professional experience working in environmental management/science, climate change, economics, health, project management, finance, administration
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups including national governments
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral presentations)
  • Knowledge of the national policies in climate change mitigation and air pollution
