The role

The Agriculture Specialist will provide technical support to the SLCP Unit in developing short-lived climate pollutants (SLCP) mitigating actions in the agriculture sector, especially methane, through a clean air and climate approach.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical knowledge for SLCP mitigation solutions in the agricultural sector
  • Collaborate with MAPA and other stakeholders on mainstreaming SLCP priorities
  • Support policy formulation and implementation of joint activities for SLCP reduction
  • Prepare technical documents, training materials, and events related to agriculture and SLCP
  • Support the Clean Air and Climate Plan implementation in collaboration with MAPA

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in agronomy, agriculture sciences, environmental science, or a similar discipline
  • At least 7 years of professional experience working in climate change and sustainable agriculture
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports and provide technical advice
  • Knowledge and experience in development communication and capacity-building methods
  • Strong knowledge of Brazil’s national policies in agriculture and climate change
  • Experience with short-lived climate pollutants (methane, black carbon, etc.)
