The role

The Cash and Market Systems Specialist position holder is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of programmes using market-based approach, including cash and voucher assistance (CVA). The post holder will support the institutionalization of market-based approaches in Mozambique, within Rapid Response Mechanism Consortium (RRM-Mozambique).

What you'll do

  • Identify trends, technical standards and donor priorities in view of Cash and Markets
  • Ensure cash and market systems is embedded in RRM consortium responses
  • Provide technical directions to field teams and support in the implementation of projects applying Cash and Voucher modality
  • Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
  • Engage with local and national authorities, stakeholders, support technical negotiations with government and represent the RRM Consortium in relevant forums related to Cash and Market systems
  • Promote the rights of IDPs and conflict-affected populations in line with CO advocacy strategy

What it takes

  • Relevant university degree
  • Minimum 4 years of field experience in cash and market-based programming with a focus on CVA from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Technical expertise in cash and voucher assistance and intervention in emergency response and protracted crisis
  • Knowledge and skills in market analysis, cash and voucher-based interventions and market-based programmes
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder engagement, building value propositions, in negotiations with government stakeholders influencing policy
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
