What you'll do
- Working with clients in their homes, on the street, in rooming houses or other locations in the community
- Offering assistance and making appropriate referrals to external agencies
- Working with clients regarding basic needs such as emergency accommodation, housing, income entitlements, employment, food, clothing, home support services and medical care
- Building a purposeful, therapeutic relationship and providing support in a practical and comprehensive way
- Accurately maintaining client files and records
- Identifying service gaps and fostering collaboration with other agencies
What it takes
- Relevant tertiary education or demonstrated experience in social services or outreach
- Valid Victorian driver’s licence
- Experience working with clients with complex needs and social policy/client support frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others towards effective client solutions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Well-developed organisational, task prioritisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and their mission to end homelessness
