The role
The Capital Projects Sourcing Lead at The Metropolitan Museum of Art is responsible for leading sourcing, contracting, and supplier management activities to support construction, facilities, infrastructure, and other capital projects.
What you'll do
- Drive sourcing best practices to maximize ROI on engaged spend.
- Develop and implement long- and short-range sourcing strategies for complex and high-risk items.
- Independently manage large RFP projects from pre-qualification of suppliers to post award supplier management.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating policies and procedures in the source-to-pay process.
- Participate in meetings with end users, understand their urgency, and align solutions plans with project priorities.
What it takes
- 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing including market research, supplier evaluation and selection, stakeholder management, negotiation, RFx solicitation, risk management, and post award supplier management.
- 5+ years’ experience sourcing design/construction projects valued at $1M+ with strong knowledge of all aspects of capital projects.
- Self-starter with ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects independently and as a member of the S2O team.
- Highly collaborative and relationship-driven, proven ability to build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Analytical, proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience presenting recommendations and sourcing strategies to senior leadership.
