The role

MTrec Recruitment is seeking a CAD/CAM Programmer & Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team in Gateshead, Tyne And Wear.

What you'll do

  • Create and optimise CNC machining programs using CAD/CAM software
  • Produce 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Support the introduction of new products from concept through to production
  • Develop manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, and setup instructions
  • Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability
  • Drive continuous improvement activities focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction

What it takes

  • HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Product Design, or Production Engineering
  • Proven experience in a CAD/CAM Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Experience using Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience generating CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
