The role
MTrec Recruitment is seeking a CAD/CAM Programmer & Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team in Gateshead, Tyne And Wear.
What you'll do
- Create and optimise CNC machining programs using CAD/CAM software
- Produce 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation
- Support the introduction of new products from concept through to production
- Develop manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, and setup instructions
- Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability
- Drive continuous improvement activities focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction
What it takes
- HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Product Design, or Production Engineering
- Proven experience in a CAD/CAM Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks
- Experience using Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D)
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
- Experience generating CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
