The role
Behavioral Health Technician I provides direct care and therapeutic support in a safe, structured environment for individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.
What you'll do
- Supervise and support individuals in care, maintaining safety and program structure.
- Perform safety checks and document observations accurately.
- Conduct 1:1 engagement to encourage treatment participation and emotional regulation.
- Obtain vital signs at required intervals (including every 2 hours).
- Administer medications (QMAP).
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field.
- QMAP, First Aid, and CPR certification required.
- Behavioral Health Technician Certification or Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness; crisis setting experience preferred.
