The role

The Associate Research Manager will oversee the Emergency and Monitoring Team, manage research cycles, and ensure the provision of timely and relevant data and analysis to inform decision-making in Ukraine.

What you'll do

  • Provide clear strategic and technical direction to Emergency and Monitoring Team staff
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance appraisals and professional development of team members
  • Oversee day-to-day team operations, including work planning, prioritisation and workload management
  • Ensure research activities align with priority information needs
  • Oversee data collection modalities and ensure quality, ethical compliance and feasibility
  • Lead dissemination of findings through briefings, presentations and coordination meetings

What it takes

  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in a humanitarian setting
  • Research skills with excellent quantitative and qualitative research data analysis experience
  • Familiarity with aid system and research community
  • Proven experience in team management in complex operational environments
  • Thematic experience with humanitarian monitoring, rapid or frontline assessments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
