The role

The incumbent will assist in the development of research and analysis strategies, conduct research, and gather and analyze information to support the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar's investigations and case building activities.

What you'll do

  • Assists in the development of research and analysis strategies
  • Conducts research to identify relevant evidence and open-source information
  • Gathers, collects, evaluates, and analyzes information
  • Maintains and updates the IIMM's internal databases
  • Participates in briefings and conferences with other IIMM personnel and external actors

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in Asian Studies, conflict or security studies, information management, international criminal law, social or political science or related fields
  • Certification or training in intelligence analysis or open-source analysis is desirable
  • Minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience involving the collection and analysis of information pertaining to serious international crimes
  • Work experience in open-source analysis, including social media monitoring, related to Myanmar is required
  • Work experience in the areas of sexual and gender-based crimes and crimes against children is desirable
  • Work experience using analytical software is desirable
