The role
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development is seeking Associate Economic Affairs Officers to work in the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Programme (SSEP) of the Division on Investment and Enterprise (DIAE).
What you'll do
- Collects, contributes to research evaluating, interpreting, analyzing specified statistics and qualitative socio-economic information
- Maintains databases and organizes non-quantitative information
- Prepares inputs to briefing notes, speeches, and similar material
- Prepares first drafts of or components of analytical studies
- Contributes to awareness raising campaigns through social media
- Assists in the organization and servicing of informal expert group meetings, seminars, and events
What it takes
- Advanced university degree in economics, finance, public policy, sustainable development, climate science or related field
- Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes or related
- Experience working with stock exchange officials and security market regulators in the application of sustainable finance principles is desirable
- Experience providing training on stock exchange sustainability and managing stock exchange sustainability databases is desirable
- Fluency in English and French is required; knowledge of Russian, Arabic, Spanish, or Chinese is desirable
- Professionalism, communication, and teamwork competencies
