Associate Director of Development

The role

The Nature Conservancy is seeking an Associate Director of Development to develop and implement effective strategies for cultivating and soliciting major donor prospects, primarily individual donors and potential corporate, foundation, and institutional funders. This role is based in Massachusetts and offers a hybrid work model with a focus on in-office presence.

What you'll do

• Build and manage a portfolio of 50-85 donors
• Conduct 40-75 visits and 150-250 moves annually
• Achieve annual fundraising goals and be responsible for setting and meeting objectives
• Qualify and manage a pipeline of six- and seven-figure gift prospects
• Negotiate complex, high-profile agreements
• Ensure compliance with TNC policies and external requirements

What it takes

• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience
• Demonstrated success in building and managing a pipeline of major gift prospects
• Experience in asking for and closing six and seven-figure gifts
• Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects
• Experience in fundraising principles and practices
• Experience collaborating with fundraisers and senior leaders
