The role

The position involves providing technical support to strengthen the availability, accessibility, quality, and sustainability of assistive technology services and supplies in Afghanistan, focusing on wheelchairs and positioning devices.

What you'll do

Assess the technical capacity of local workshops
Provide technical support to workshops
Review and support the development of wheelchair and positioning device designs
Provide technical guidance on supply chain and procurement
Provide training and mentoring to workshop staff and relevant stakeholders
Document key findings and prepare a handover package

What it takes

Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Physical and Functional Rehabilitation, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Assistive Technology, or related fields
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
Experience in AT product assessment, selection, quality assurance, technical specifications, and fitting
Experience in AT market analysis, supplier assessment, sourcing, and supply-chain management
Experience in training, coaching, or mentoring rehabilitation professionals and relevant stakeholders
Excellent written and spoken English; working knowledge of Dari and Pashto is desirable
