The role
The Assistant Community Engagement Officer will assist in community engagement activities, plan meetings with community leaders, and support the coordination of safe burials and Ebola intervention activities.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with Safe Burial teams to achieve program goals and promote acceptance of their activities.
- Plan and support meetings between the Community Engagement Officer and community leaders.
- Support group discussions with the Community Engagement Officer.
- Ensure timely data collection for all Community Engagement Officer activities.
- Attend external meetings if designated to represent FHI 360.
What it takes
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences or a related field
- Fluent in Lingala and French, with English proficiency preferred
- At least 2 years of national-level experience in humanitarian emergency response
- Experience working for UN agencies or international NGOs is desirable but not required
- Understanding of minimum international and national standards for services in humanitarian emergencies
- Knowledge of gender integration, monitoring and evaluation, and project cycle management
