Applied AI Engineer

The role

The Applied AI Engineer (AAE) bridges the gap between technical AI development and field implementation by deploying, configuring, and testing AI systems in humanitarian contexts. This role focuses on adapting AI tools to local environments, ensuring safety and accuracy, and training field teams for effective system adoption. The AAE identifies failure modes, translates field insights into product improvements, and creates reusable frameworks to support scalable impact. You will work across diverse, resource-constrained environments to ensure AI technology delivers tangible outcomes for the populations the IRC serves.
