The role
Animal Care Workers are responsible for the husbandry, enrichment, and cleaning of animal care facilities at Toronto Humane Society.
What you'll do
- Interact with all animals safely and respectfully
- Complete daily cleaning and disinfecting routines of animal housing areas
- Maintain assigned area in a clean, organized, and professional manner
- Feed animals appropriate diet and ensure supply of fresh water daily
- Observe and evaluate animals daily and monitor health and welfare
- Provide animal enrichment including exercise, training, and socialization
What it takes
- Certificate in Animal Care or Veterinary Assistant
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with animals
- Formal animal care knowledge, training, and/or experience an asset
- Comfortable working with various types and sizes of animals
- Strong time management and organizational skills
