The role

The Air Operations Assistant is responsible for ensuring the safety and efficient air transportation to and from the field mission of both civilian and military personnel as well as equipment and goods.

What you'll do

  • Carry out ramp operations tasks
  • Maintain ramp discipline and enforce safety zones around operating aircraft
  • Assist aircrew in their dispatch at the airport
  • Coordinate with Ground Handling Agents for all issues related to Mission aircraft operations
  • Check NOTAMs and other relevant notices/information relating to the airfield
  • Support refueling coordination and ensure safety perimeter during fueling

What it takes

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Technical or vocational certificate in Air Transportation, aircraft flight operations, dispatch, Safety Management, Air Operations is desirable
  • A minimum of five (05) years of progressively responsible experience in Air Transport Operations is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
  • Experience in ramp safety and/or aircraft ground handling practices is required
  • Basic radio communication skills are desirable
  • Physical fitness suitable for outdoor ramp work is desirable
