The role
Public Citizen seeks an AI Governance and Tech State Policy Advocate to work on state AI legislation and advocacy efforts.
What you'll do
- State legislative advocacy
- Form and maintain relationships with lawmakers from both sides of the aisle
- Identify and engage in advocacy activities to support state legislation
- Create written resources to support advocacy efforts
- Draft and review legislative language
- Work with the Director to develop state legislative strategy
What it takes
- College degree required
- 4+ years of relevant research and advocacy experience, with a preference given to those with specific expertise on AI and/or Big Tech platforms
- Exceptional analytic, research, and written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in coalitions and networks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond to short-term deadlines and balance multiple responsibilities; maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy
